Bring Back The 'Keep Britain Tidy' Campaign on TV

Bring Back The 'Keep Britain Tidy' Campaign on TV
The Issue
I don't know about you, but I am absolutely fed up with the amount of litter on our streets. Litter is one of my pet hates! Back in the 80s I remember our streets and countryside being much cleaner thanks in part to the combination of education on our children, parents that told their children to pick up their litter if dropped and the Keep Britain Tidy campaign that regularly appeared on our TV screens keeping the message at the forefront of our minds.
Since the turn of the century I have seen an increase of litter on our streets and in our beautiful countryside. Many people now seem to think it is ok for someone else to clean up their mess. Some people come and camp in our stunning countryside and then leave their tents and rubbish for locals to dispose of instead of leaving the area as they found it.
Litter finds it's way into our waterways, polluting and killing wildlife.
Litter is also a huge problem on our streets too. Culminating in roadside kerbs lined with the waste of lazy disrespectful people.
I've recently watched a travel vlog on youtube by two Americans cycling around our beautiful island, and they said the worst thing about our country was the amount of litter they encountered on their travels. Whether that be in the cities or in the countryside. This made me very sad, and quite frankly embarrassed.
So, I thought, lets reintroduce the 'Keep Britain Tidy' campaign back onto our TV screens to bring this rectifiable issue back into people's consciousness. Let's start educating people again that litter is an unacceptable blot on our landscape that the majority of us find deplorable.
We shouldn't have to rely on volunteers to pick up other people's rubbish so NOW is the time to bring back the campaign and start being proud of our tidy country once again!
