The purpose of this petition is to spark interest and implore the Village of Lordstown's Council to bring back it's recreational Summer Fun Days program for Lordstown families. This program was designed for children of the village who are of preschool age up to 6th grade to disconnect from their devices and get outside to have fun. The program was previously held in July on Mon-Thurs for a few hours each morning. It was a safe place for children to enjoy activities such as basketball, soccer, dance/tumbling, boardgames, arts and crafts, science, nature walks, etc. Parents, children and volunteers look forward to this program every year and it was discontinued in 2020. We want to bring it back! It is so important for children to get time outside getting physical activity and interacting with other children in this type of setting.
