The amazing Spider-Man's story was left unfinished! Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker and the Spidey fans the conclusion his story deserves but never received

Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker was given another chance to be Spider-Man in Spider-Man: No Way Home. We believe that story should not end there.

We are asking Sony Pictures to consider bringing Andrew Garfield back to finish the Spider-Man story, whether that ultimately takes the form of a feature film, limited series, or another live-action project that Sony believes best serves the character.

We are not asking Sony to erase Gwen Stacy, undo the events of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, or force Andrew's Peter into the primary MCU continuity.

We are asking for something much simpler:

Let Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker resolve his experience of one of the most devastating losses any version of Spider-Man could face. He lost Gwen Stacy and he blames himself. Her death profoundly changed him. By the time we met him again in Spider-Man: No Way Home, we learned that his grief and guilt had taken him to a much darker place. He had stopped pulling his punches. Then the multiverse gave him an unexpected opportunity. He met two other versions of himself who were both with an MJ!

One was an older Peter Parker who had experienced decades of being Spider-Man. The other was a younger Peter who was about to experience a loss painfully similar to his own. Then Andrew's Peter was able to do something he could never do for Gwen: He saved MJ. That moment mattered. He wasn't simply fighting another villain. He was confronting the person he had become after losing Gwen and choosing to help another Peter avoid being consumed by the same pain. Then the story ended.

But it doesn't have to!  We are asking Sony to continue the story!

We never got to learn what happened to him afterward. We never saw whether he could build a life beyond his grief. We never saw the next stage of his growth as a hero. And we never saw him find love again. That is the unfinished story we want to see. Peter Parker deserves a future. We are not asking for Gwen Stacy to be forgotten. Quite the opposite. Gwen should remain one of the most important people in Peter's life and one of the experiences that shaped the hero he became. But Peter Parker's story has never been about avoiding loss. It has always been about what he chooses to do after loss. Peter can remember Gwen, carry her memory with him, and still allow himself to live, love, and become a better person. No Way Home gave Andrew's Peter the beginning of that healing. We want to see the rest of it. And we want Mary Jane Watson to be part of that future

There is an especially meaningful reason to introduce Mary Jane in Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man universe. Mary Jane was already intended to be part of the planned continuation of this version of Peter Parker. Shailene Woodley was cast as Mary Jane Watson and filmed three scenes with Andrew Garfield for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Those scenes were ultimately removed because the filmmakers felt the story needed to remain focused on Peter and Gwen. Woodley has recently explained that she was told the plan was to wait until Gwen's story had concluded before introducing Mary Jane. But that continuation hasn't happened. The Amazing Spider-Man 3 was never made. Mary Jane never met Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker on screen. And the story that could have introduced her was left unfinished.

We believe there is now a meaningful opportunity to finally give Peter that next chapter. Mary Jane should not replace Gwen. She should represent Peter's future. A new Mary Jane Watson could be written specifically for the person Peter has become after everything he has experienced. She could be a new interpretation—or even a variant—of Mary Jane within Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man universe, allowing Sony and its filmmakers complete freedom to determine who she is, what her history is, and how she meets Peter. What matters to us is that Peter eventually gets the opportunity to meet Mary Jane and develop a genuine new relationship with her.

We are intentionally leaving that decision open. We want the story to continue. We do not want to dictate how Sony must tell it.

The project could be:

a limited series;

a Sony Pictures television project;

a multiverse story;

or another format Sony and its creative partners believe is appropriate.

The popularuty of the Spider-Man multiverse (Spiderverse) has demonstrated that audiences are willing to embrace different versions of Peter Parker. Andrew Garfield's return in No Way Home gave audiences something they had been asking for for years—and it allowed his Peter Parker to receive an emotional moment of healing that his original series never had the opportunity to complete. The response to his return showed that this version of Peter still has an audience. And his story still has somewhere to go.

 We don't believe No Way Home should be viewed as merely a nostalgic cameo or an ending. It can be the bridge to the next chapter. We are asking Sony Pictures to consider it. We are not asking for a particular director, villain, release date, budget, studio arrangement, or supporting cast. We are not asking Sony to disregard its existing agreements or creative plans with Marvel Studios. We are not submitting a screenplay or unsolicited production concept. We are simply asking Sony Pictures to listen to the audience and consider developing another live-action story centered on Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker. We want Sony and its creative partners to have the freedom to determine what that story should ultimately become.

But we ask for two things:

1. Continue Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker's unfinished journey following Spider-Man: No Way Home and The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

2. Give Peter the opportunity to meet and develop a meaningful romantic relationship with Mary Jane Watson.

Those are the heart of this petition. Everything else can be decided by the filmmakers. Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker deserves one more chapter. The fans who connected with this version of Spider-Man deserve the opportunity to see where his journey goes.
