The Issue

As devoted fans of Tenacious D, we fully comprehend the gravity of the comment made by Kyle Gass during the recent concert at the ICC Theater in Sydney, Australia. The band has faced significant backlash from the mainstream media and general public since the incident. However, we firmly believe that this incident does not represent the genuine character of Tenacious D.

This moment serves as a valuable lesson — one that underscores the impact of words and the responsibilities that come with public performances. Both Jack Black and Kyle Gass have learned from the experience.

Tenacious D brings people from all age groups and walks of life together. The band has been a source of joy, inspiration, and entertainment for countless fans around the world. Their unique blend of humor, music, and theatrical performance has created a lasting legacy.

Additionally , the pause in Tenacious D’s activities affects not only the band members themselves but also the broader ecosystem of crew members, venue staff, promoters, and local businesses that benefit from their concerts and tours. Resuming their activities can help mitigate these economic disruptions.

The last (complete) Tenacious D tour of Australia and New Zealand took place in 2013, the two 2024 nights in Sydney were the first nights of the tour. This means that the majority of Australian and New Zealand fans missed out on the special Tenacious D experience, after a long wait.

As a result, we respectfully urge the management of Tenacious D and relevant authorities to take these points into account and reinstate the band.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. This petition represents the collective voice of Tenacious D fans and supporters who wish to see the band overcome this challenging moment and continue their tour and future projects.

A new album, a new tour, a new beginning.

Thanks for signing, and long live The D.
