While online days may seem like a good idea they are anything but. Students and parents both despise online days for many reasons. Parents hate online days because instead of just letting us play and have fun they have to constantly check on us because 90% of the time there will be something wrong with webex. Many parents just take the day off work which causes problems at their work. Students hate online days the most because instead of having valuable free time we must endure online lessons with horrible microphones and bad wifi. Instead of getting time with friends and family we have to “learn.” Teachers also seem to dislike online days because they just hand out stuff like “Learn how to draw a snow man :)” instead of actual work. Majority of the time students are not actually listening either, a lot of kids just turn off their camera and play games or sleep/eat (Everyone has done this). Instead of the classic snowday tradition of sledding, building snowmans, etc, instead we have to sit and do meaningless work.

Me and my friend Brody feel very passionately about snow days, we can both remember when snow days were actual snow days. We didn't realize how lucky we were to have those. It was crushing when we realized we wouldn't get anymore. You could restore a lot of hope by bringing back snow days, it would give kids something to look forward to.
