Bring Back St. Vincent's Hospital

Bring Back St. Vincent's Hospital
The Issue
We, the undersigned, are concerned parents and taxpayers who want to bring back a first-class medical facility to the West Village and the Lower Westside—Including Chelsea, Parts of Tribeca, Chinatown, and Soho. We Ask the Governor, State of New York, and Mayor, City of New York, to build a new St. Vincent’s Hospital.
Our neighborhoods are woefully underserved in our medical needs. We have less than one hospital bed per 50,000 people, and the nearest hospitals are
too far away to save anyone in critical condition. This presents an immediate danger to our community. Lives are being lost. It is now time to bring back what we lost. We demand the building of a new St. Vincent’s Hospital for our local downtown community of over 100,000 people.
It's about saving lives, plain and simple. When someone has a stroke or a heart attack, every moment in between the incident and the hospital is critical to saving that person's life.
The people of Greenwich Village had St. Vincent's Hospital from 1849-2010. Now we no longer have a hospital to serve our community. It is of the utmost importance, and a critical missing component of our neighborhood for all residents, young and old.
