The Issue

As someone directly affected by this issue, I yearn for the opportunity to study plant science at Shadle Park. This subject had been instrumental in our studies, illuminating the intricate relationships between flora and our world. Unfortunately, this vital course has recently been eliminated from our curriculum, thereby depriving us of the chance to explore this nurturing field. During the 2018-2019 school year, over 120 students participated in plant science classes at Shadle Park (Source: School annual report). These statistics fortify the relevance and popularity of the course among students. Therefore, we are advocating for the reintroduction of plant science courses at Shadle Park. The removal of plant science impinges upon students' freedom to choose their area of interest and potentially unearth a passion for botany or associated fields. Additionally, plant science fosters a deeper understanding about the environment that will bolster our actions towards its preservation. Let's bring back plant science at Shadle Park and provide our students with the broadest education possible. Please sign this petition to support our cause.
