Many children have never wrestled in their life. They may have played other sports like football, baseball, basketball, soccer, or track but only one man, Nick Tonzola, changed the sport of wrestling for these young athletes. Tonzola is not just a wrestling coach; he is a mentor, a father, a friend, and indeed, an incredible coach. He kept his faith in God and always prayed for our children to have the strength and wisdom to try their best.

Despite high participation rates in wrestling and the profound influence of Coach Tonzola, the decision has been made to not have him return to the STA Mat and fulfill the request he has asked to bring this program to its full potential . He was not fired and he did not quit! He was ignored! To remove him from his coaching position has been a downward fall into this program and without him I am afraid there will not be one come next year. A study by 'The Sport Journal' indicates that coaches significantly influence athletes' lives, aiding their self-development extending beyond sporting skills (The Sport Journal, 2014). With this in mind, we ask you to consider what this will change not only to our sport or school but to our kids that he loved like his own. 

We believe that by ignoring Coach Tonzola, our kids are being deprived of an individual who doesn't just teach them about sports, but also about life, faith, and dedication. We ask you to rethink this decision and to provide our children with the exemplary figure they aspire to become. Please join us in asking for the reinstatement of Coach Nick Tonzola. To consider his request and look at the proof when he was a coach what it did for the program.
