The Issue

Just last week, I noticed our beloved teacher and coach, Coach Hill, wasn't showing up to our classes and practices. At first, I didn’t think much of it. But as the days went on, it became a glaring absence, one that couldn't be ignored. Rumors began to circulate, and finally, I got the scoop - he was let go. The reason? Nobody knows. Or rather, the supposed reason makes no sense at all, not to anyone who knows him and his dedication.

Coach Hill was more than just a coach. He transformed every assignment into something exciting and every practice into a place where we learned not just about sports, but about life. His film sessions were eye-opening, making every moment on the field feel like it mattered. Unlike our current environments where competition breeds animosity, Coach Hill fostered a culture where every player felt valued, and no one was uplifted at the expense of another. He was the heart of the team, the pulse that kept us moving forward together and excited.

Here in Irving High, we need coaches like Coach Hill mentors who inspire and empower rather than divide and discourage. His influence didn’t just improve our game; it shaped our perspectives and built our confidence. Why deprive students of such a positive force over an unsolved puzzle of paperwork and policy?

Let's bring clarity and fairness to this situation. We must urge the School Board to review their decision, investigate thoroughly, and bring Coach Hill back. His impact is too profound to be wiped away without justified cause. Every one of us who has benefited from his teachings knows just how crucial he is. His return won't just be about reinstating a job, it's about restoring a mission and a passion that benefits us all.

Help us ensure that justice and fairness prevail for Coach Hill and for the students who need him. Sign this petition to show your support and make your voice heard. Together, we can bring about change that respects talent, recognizes dedication, and upholds the values of fairness and integrity in our school.
