Bring back “Ola’s Famous Goulash” to Veselka

Bring back “Ola’s Famous Goulash” to Veselka
The Issue
I have been a dedicated patron of Veselka in the East Village since moving to Manhattan in 2020. Over the months, my visits have become less frequent, but Veselka has always held a special place in my heart. It's more than just a restaurant—it's a beloved institution, a staple of New York's East Village, known for its vibrant atmosphere and its comforting Ukrainian cuisine.
A visit to Veselka was always a highlight, but recently I discovered something that has saddened many loyal customers like myself. Veselka has removed "Ola's Famous Goulash" from their menu, citing a lack of popularity. For many of us, this wasn't just another menu item—it was a culinary experience, a perfect blend of flavors and memories cherished with friends and family.
"Ola's Famous Goulash" was not only a dish; it was an emblematic part of what made Veselka feel like home—a warm, hearty reminder of Veselka's rich culinary heritage. Over the years, I've been privileged to introduce friends, old and new, to this delightful dish, and I've witnessed firsthand how it brings people together.
Veselka, located at 9th and 2nd, has been a de facto community hub for many of us, a place where bonds flourish and memories are crafted over shared plates of delicious food. Removing "Ola's Famous Goulash" means losing a piece of the unique charm and authenticity that defines this New York treasure.
We believe that with the support of the community, we can demonstrate to Veselka just how beloved "Ola's Famous Goulash" truly is. Our goal is to rally the community, get our voices heard, and bring back this emblematic dish.
Join us in showing Veselka the love for "Ola's Famous Goulash." Signing this petition could help convince them that the goulash is not only missed but wanted back on the menu. Let’s remind Veselka of the affection this community has for both their legacy and their delicious goulash!
