As of April 16th, APUSH and Honors Contemporary Events teacher has been absent from campus. We, her students, have no communication with her.
While this is harmful to our education - more so as AP tests draw nearer - we are most concerned about the context surrounding this situation. On April 16th, Zasadil spoke at the CVUSD Board meeting. She stood for all the girls at Westlake High School who confided in her their lived experiences regarding sexual assault and harassment on campus.

As time passes, we wonder more and more when - or if - she will return. We have been left entirely in the dark about the subject. The situation feels taboo when talking with school faculty.

As far as we are aware, Zasadil has been removed from campus until further notice, allegedly "on leave." We want to be assured that our teacher is well and will return within the school year.
Either way, we demand information. This can not remain in the dark any longer. Let honesty usurp reputation, for the school's is already tarnished.
