Bring back MacGyver to conclude the series
The Issue
"MacGyver," the engaging and action-packed TV show that captured the hearts and imaginations of viewers around the globe, was abruptly concluded without a fulfilling closure in 2021. The show, which had entertained fans with its inventive problem-solving and thrilling adventures since its reboot in 2016, left countless stories untold and fans yearning for more closure on their favorite characters' journeys.
This petition is deeply personal because "MacGyver" was not just a show; it was an emotional journey for its audience. It provided warmth, excitement, and a sense of connection that fans cherished. It took us on an exhilarating ride where we felt emotionally invested in every plot twist and character arc. Many fans had hoped for a conclusive ending that would tie up loose threads and offer an appropriate farewell.
According to CBS, the final episodes had amassed consistently high viewership ratings, demonstrating an unwavering fan base and the show's impact based on data available from reliable sources such as Nielsen. However, despite its success, "MacGyver" was left without the ending it truly deserved. Other successful shows like "Lucifer" and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" were given the chance to wrap up their stories respectfully, and we believe "MacGyver" should be afforded that same opportunity.
We are calling on CBS and other involved parties to bring back "MacGyver" for at least one more season, or a special conclusive event, that offers fans closure and fulfills the potential promised by its narratives. By doing so, they can honor the commitment and dedication of the series' cast, crew, and its loyal fanbase.
After five thrilling seasons, the characters and stories deserve a proper ending that reflects the dedication of its creators and fulfills the journey they began. We understand the intricacies of television production, but we believe that there remains a huge audience eager for resolution. With platforms like Paramount+ and other streaming options available now, bringing back "MacGyver" for a final chapter is a feasible and rewarding endeavor both creatively and commercially.
Please sign this petition to help bring "MacGyver" back on screen and ensure we all get the ending this iconic show deserves.
