I am an Asian Studies Major with a concentration in Japanese who wants to study abroad in Tokyo. However, Wayne State is going to drop this course soon due to a lack of attendance. I had a very busy summer and fell behind on my Japanese studying, so I don't want to lose this chance to strengthen my knowledge before I go abroad. I'm sure that there are other people who feel the same way. Furthermore, Wayne State University funds its classes in a very Eurocentric way, so the Asian Studies Major has a severe lack of resources. I refuse to have such a great class fall victim to this trend. Department Chair Vanessa DeGifis, Associate Chair Leonidas Pittos, and Director Saeed Khan, please bring this class back.
