John Kelly isn’t just a broadcaster—he’s the heartbeat of Blues hockey. For over 20 years, his voice has brought our highs and lows to life, carrying on the legendary legacy of his father, Dan Kelly, who helped build hockey in St. Louis from the ground up.

Removing John without fanfare or respect is a disservice to this city, this fanbase, and everything the Blues represent.

We understand that organizations look for ways to reduce costs, but a simulcast is not a solution. Radio and television broadcasting are fundamentally different crafts. Radio demands constant description; TV allows space for the moment to breathe. John Kelly mastered that balance. To replace him with a one-size-fits-all approach is to lower the standard of Blues hockey broadcasting, plain and simple.
