Jesse Lee Soffer has been portraying Detective Jay Halstead on Dick Wolf & NBC's Chicago PD for over a decade now. He is an incredible actor who has brought joy and comfort to many over the years in this role, and recently it has come out that he will be exiting the show sometime this Fall.

With his portrayal of Jay Halstead, he makes up one half of the beloved ship, Upstead, alongside co-star Tracy Spiridakos in the Chicago PD universe. A ship who has been named as one of the biggest and most loved countless times by fans and media outlets, and many are devastated and confused as to how an outcome like this could be possible.

It has not been confirmed whether it was Soffer's decision or not to leave the franchise, but with recent events surrounding actors on other Dick Wolf shows and articles about NBC wanting to cut corners with budgets, it is likely that he was forced out. 

Fans are outraged by this news, as they should be, flocking to social media and expressing their concerns over this decision.
