Bring Back Halloween Celebrations in Collingswood School District

The Issue

For many of us, our fondest childhood memories are tied to the joyous celebrations we had during elementary school - especially the Halloween parades and parties. I can recall the excitement and anticipation that grew in the air as we prepared for these seasonal events. With a daughter who experienced the same memorable moments in Oaklyn Public School, I know firsthand the impact these celebrations have on childhood development, camaraderie, and overall happiness.

However, these Halloween parades and parties have been dropped from the annual school calendar, leaving our children deprived of these memorable experiences. Halloween festivities can play a crucial role in promoting creativity and imagination in children, strengthening friendships, encouraging community spirit, and ensuring a well-rounded educational experience.

We are advocating for the return of these cherished traditions to our elementary school. Schools across the country have managed to organize such events while respecting health and safety regulations, emphasizing that it's feasible and beneficial.

Thus, we implore the relevant authorities to acknowledge the irreplaceable value of these traditions and make the decision to revive the Halloween parades and parties in our elementary schools. Our children deserve to create beautiful memories just like we did. Please sign this petition to preserve and pass on the joy and wonder of these Halloween school traditions.
