On the evening of 9 June 2016 the good people of Gorseinon begun discovering the news that Gorseinon Carnival 2016 had been cancelled due to high economic demands imposed by the City and County of Swansea asked for at the last minute, with only four weeks to go. All the commented on that post were saddened at the news and angry and the city council for putting up its affordable prices.

Gorseinon Carnival is organised by a small group of good people, volunteers. Their work and dedication puts a smile on everyone’s face – who is the authority to deny this?

Gorseinon Carnival returned to its natural home of the streets of Gorseinon and Parc y Werin four years ago and ever since thousands of people flock to the people’s park to have a great family day out. With stalls, rides, shows, food and drink, the event is loved by all that attend it. Gorseinon Carnival brings the people of Gorseinon and the surrounding areas together and is a vitality to local people.
