Medical school should be about learning, not simply taking exams and moving on. When we get a question wrong, we need the opportunity to understand what we misunderstood and correct that gap in our knowledge. Without reviewing our incorrect answers, we may carry those same misconceptions into future exams, board preparation, and ultimately clinical practice. Allowing students to review missed questions turns each exam into a learning opportunity and helps us identify what we need to improve moving forward.
