The Issue

For the past few years, the option to purchase Eurotunnel Frequent Traveller tickets for journeys between France and the UK has been unavailable. Regular travellers like us have been significantly impacted by this decision.

I’ve kept a record of my crossings:

  1. Between 2019 and 2020, the average return journey cost me £116 (9 crossings).
  2. Since then, my new average has risen to £331 (5 crossings) — that's a staggering 185% increase

We fully understand that recent years have brought challenges, including COVID-19, Brexit, and new infrastructure investments. However, it’s clear that Getlink has returned to profitability:

  • 2019: Profit of €159 million, up 20% vs. 2018 (source)
  • 2020: Loss of €113 million, due to the COVID-19 pandemic (source)
  • 2021: Loss of €229 million, mainly due to rising inflation impacting indexed debt (source)
  • 2022: Profit of €252 million, driven by post-COVID recovery and ElecLink’s contribution (source)
  • 2023: Record profit of €326 million, boosted by exceptional performance from ElecLink (source)
  • 2024: Profit of €317 million, only slightly down due to a temporary suspension of ElecLink operations (source)

Despite the company’s strong recovery, return fares are still up to three times higher than before — and we know this increase is not solely driven by cost pressures.

We are calling on all frequent travellers to support this initiative and urge Eurotunnel to reinstate discounted Frequent Traveller tickets. With your help, we can raise awareness and drive meaningful change.

👉 Please share this petition with your friends, family, and fellow travellers. Let’s make sure Eurotunnel hears the voice of its loyal customers.

Thank you for your support!
