Bring back David Walliams

Bring back David Walliams
The Issue
David Walliams stepped down as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent after being forced to apologise for disrespectful comments made about contestants during the filming of bgt 2020.
David apologised and said “These were private conversations and like most conversations with friends, were never intended to be shared. Nevertheless, I am sorry.”
David claims bosses of Britain’s Got Talent spied on him in the £10million High Court showdown. His writ says makers Fremantle Media “recorded, transcribed and retained” private conversations for 10 years.
He also claims fellow judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden were monitored the same way by production staff.
He added these private conversations, which happened while they were still wearing their microphones, included him speaking about his romantic relationships and sex life, highly sensitive issues relating to the impact of his divorce on his son, and his physical and mental health.
Amanda supported David talking to GMB at The Variety Awards saying "I would like to see the judging panel look like it looked before. We are a great team, we're a family." When asked whether she was 'Team David', Amanda enthused: "Of course, I'm 'Team David.'"
In April 2025, Alesha also supported David on his podcast with Matt Lewis saying “The four of us together were magic, I think that the ten years we did together was special and I think that we were the best judging panel on telly”
Francine Lewis shared her thoughts on the new judging panel. Talking about her experience on the show, Francine exclusively told us: "The whole panel was so lovely, they were the nicest. I am gutted David isn't there anymore, to me he worked so well with Simon."
David who says he has suffered suicidal thoughts after being cancelled from public life, and has “lost the ability to be funny” and fears that whatever he says or does will be used against him.
In my opinion David played a big part in the show and whatever he says privately should not be used against him publicly and that he should return to the show in 2027.
