Bring back CNFA and other branches of USAID

Bring back CNFA and other branches of USAID
The Issue
Growing up, I watched my mother pour her heart and soul into her work at USAID, specifically within the CNFA—a program dedicated to improving agricultural practices and food security in vulnerable regions. Her commitment and passion not only provided for our family but also contributed positively to communities worldwide. Unfortunately, over the past year and a half, the discontinuation of CNFA has left my mother struggling to make ends meet. The hope and security that USAID once instilled in our family have been replaced by uncertainty and financial strain. My mother is already under the pressure and hardship of taking care of me and my only 4 year old brother as a single mother, which has been hard on her.
The elimination of CNFA and similar branches within USAID represents more than the loss of jobs; it is a significant setback in the fight against global hunger and poverty. These programs played a critical role in promoting sustainable agricultural practices, increasing food production, and enhancing the livelihoods of countless farmers across developing nations. By dismantling these initiatives, we have turned our backs on millions who rely on this support for survival.
Statistics from the United Nations indicate that almost 690 million people went hungry in 2019, a number exacerbated by ongoing global conflicts and the recent pandemic. Programs like CNFA are essential in addressing such urgent crises by empowering local communities with the tools and knowledge required to increase food security and self-sufficiency. Restoring USAID branches dedicated to agriculture can bolster global efforts to eradicate hunger and restore hope to vulnerable populations.
This petition seeks to rally public support for reinstating CNFA and other critical USAID branches. By rebuilding these programs, we not only provide countless individuals the opportunity to reclaim their livelihoods, we also renew our commitment to combating hunger and poverty on a global scale.
Please stand with us in urging the U.S. government to re-evaluate this decision and prioritize the well-being of our global community. Sign this petition to bring back CNFA and continue the vital work of USAID. Let's ensure that the invaluable work conducted by individuals like my mother is not just remembered but revived for the greater good.
