Bring back Big Spring Jam

Bring back Big Spring Jam
The Issue
I am starting a petition to bring back The Big Spring Jam. Big spring jam began in 1993 and spanned until 2009 as a 3-day music festival here in the Rocket city. The festival bought in big-name bands to play on multiple different stages. In 2011 they did a revival, but was only 2 days, after that the festival was no more. Being a local from Huntsville, I grew up attending this weekend event every year until it was canceled due to low ticket sales. The average population in the Madison County area in 2011 was 183,327. With all the new developments coming to the area, Madison County has increased by 216,673; approximate population of 183,327 in 2011 and now an appropriate population of 400,000 with more expected to come with the new developments being built in our beautiful city. Not only has Huntsville seen a rapid population increase, but the music scene has blown up, too. We have the redone Propst arena, Mark C. Smith concert hall, now Orion Amphitheater, and Mars music hall. We have tons of amazing musicians and bands! Considering all of the growth in the area, I believe a resurgence of The Big Spring Jam would reap tons of ticket sales and would be a great asset to Huntsville's continuing growth in arts and entertainment. The possibility of relocating from downtown could also work, there are multiple locations across Madison County that could hold this event, if of course deemed to be held else where. I truly believe this could bring HUGE light back on to this city and other attractions being noticed more.
