I am very disappointed to tell you and saddened for you that the

Prostate Cancer Foundation Australia's Chair Cancer Survivorship/Chief of Mission and Head of Research/UniSQ Immediate Past President Union for International Cancer Control

has told me in terms of the intervals between testing, for men at an average risk of prostate cancer, two yearly testing is sufficient, in the same way that screening for other major cancers is based on intervals of longer than a year.

Your boys/mens lives will be at risk (low average high - risk is risk in a leading cancer). Two yearly is unacceptable, inadequate and definitely insufficient as far as I'm concerned. Prostate Cancer is not like "other major cancers", all cancers are major, and it is the LEADING cancer (in men). It is of my opinion and I have no doubt the vast majority of Australian public will agree all LEADING cancers (in men and women) should allow for the individuals, to have the optional free ANNUAL testing regardless of risk factors. The best healthcare PREVENTATIVE MEASURES should be in place. It should be a human right. What could be deemed as low risk in 2025 could be high risk by 2027 and too late. Prostate Cancer and Breast Cancer both leading cancers should be ANNUALLY tested for ALL.

The PCFA draft the Clinical Guidelines. They are the ones responsible for leaving PSA Testing at 2 yearly. While there are other decision-makers down the line, ultimately the PCFA come up with what THEY THINK is best. But yet over 10,500 Australian's disagree with them & want what's best for  'US'
