Happy New Year! I hope you are having a great and happy start to the new year! I want to update all of you on our streetlight progress. So far there has been NO major projects or bills on the infrastructure of our country's streetlight problem. BUT! Crossroads LED has put a city under a case study. A particular city in the U.S. that has the biggest issues on light pollution.

Albuquerque, New Mexico:

Back in 2016, Albuquerque had converted over 25,000 Streetlights from amber to 3000k and 4000k LEDs. Sadly there are TONS of sources using Albuquerque as a prime example of HORRIBLE light pollution and neglecting the needs of their residents. Crossroads LED had put the city under a case study, describing the major neglect the city had put into their infrastructure. (Mainly the streetlights)!

Cities of neighboring states (Like Flagstaff, AZ), are putting their foot down and are describing Albuquerque as an, "Eye-Sore for light pollution". And what makes things even worse is that, Despite NEGATIVE PUBLICITY from around the world, Albuquerque is STILL REFUSING to convert their streetlights into amber. As many cities around the world. INCLUDING! Paris France, (The city that encouraged Albuquerque to use white light). Paris has since then went back to amber lighting.

Shoutout to Paris for your changes from white light to amber! I have found an article on Paris changing their lights back to amber several months ago. And the article described Paris and the rest of the U.K. converting all of their white streetlights to amber LEDs.

NOTE to REMEMBER: Amber LEDs are LED streetlights that produce that EXACT same color temperature as High Pressure Sodium lights would. Meaning that, you would get 2200k (Amber Color), that orangey glow. Which is proven to NOT only darken our skies so we could see the stars better. BUT! Also widen the light luminary beam on the surface like a road to see better. It also reduces glare. A common issue with white lights.

Check back on my previous updates if you want to contact your local government. That is especially if they are REFUSING to use Amber LEDs as a new light project. Again, Thank you all for signing this petition! It NOT only helps bring the awareness of light pollution becoming a major issue, but also ENFORCES our leaders ALL AROUND the world who we look upon to get rid of white lights and bring back dark sky lighting!
