I have always had a fond place in my heart for penguins, brilliant birds that adapt to their harsh environments. It is worrisome and sad to me to think that penguins might go extinct in the wild by the year 2100 due to the devastating impacts of climate change (British Antarctic Survey, 2018). The cause is avoidable yet nothing is really done only talked about. If humans stop consumption of fossil fuels penguins and the Earth will have a fighting chance to thrive for generations ahead. Renewable energies like wind, solar, and geothermal present a viable solution to our energy needs without further worsening climate change. If governments focus on implementing these energies then climate change will be history. In addition, scientists might be funded to study how to make this renewable energy less expensive. So please, sign this and bring awareness to the global climate crisis at hand.
