Summer of 2022- Marci Miller- Abigail, Victoria Konefall- Ciara both wanted to stay with the show just not full time. Abigail was murdered and Ciara left with Ben.
Sal Stowers- Lani and Lamon Archey exit as Lani and Eli.
Sal is then essentially replaced by Jada Hunter.
Matthew Ashford and Cady McClain exit as well as Chandler Massey and Grant Tinker- Will and Sonny.
In March of 2023 it’s announced that 7 more actors are departing- 6 women and 1 male who is recurring.
Camila Banus chose to leave but the show being on streaming gives her, as an actress, far less exposure.
Nadia Bjorlin also chose to leave presumably because of the alleged harassment.
Martha Madison was let go along with Brandon Beemer. Then she was asked to be recurring and refused because Belle isn’t a peripheral character in her view. She may also be the actress that Alaar told to come up to his office on her last day.
Akeetra Sevillin- Jada’s sister, was also written out. As well as Lindsey Arnold- Ally.
Tony and Anna were also written out and are now traveling the world.
Peter Porte soon followed and his character of Dimitri was sent to jail.
Judi Evans, also stopped airing soon after her scene, directed by Alaar in which he allegedly shamed her by calling her a derogatory name. Justin also hasn’t really been seen since.
Rex- Kyle Lauder and Sarah, Lindsey Godfrey exited together and she returned months later without him.
All of this was happening and chaos behind the scenes so Arianne decided to do something about it because she probably had enough.
Nobody wants to lose their job or be written out of the show.. That’s why no one was speaking up.. They were afraid of the repercussions because if you challenged Alaar or had a problem , he was in charge of your air time, he could call you a budget cut and let you go.
The actor who played Sloan’s brother found that out when he was let go. He wasn’t the only one let go for doing that.
Enough was enough for Arianne and it obviously didn’t end well for her. The thing is they really could’ve negotiated with her because they decided to let Steve Burton go at the end of his 1 year contract around the time they let Ari’s contract run out with proper negotiations. That is where they made their mistake.
That no one else was either brave enough or capable of bringing a lawsuit against them once Albert Alaar’s alleged behavior was revealed and he was subsequently fired: is outrageous. I mean there’s a lot of evidence and Alaar even admitted to some of the claims.
No one wants to either lose their job, get blackballed, or waste their valuable time on this unfortunate situation.
Arianne and the entire cast deserve so much more than they have received.
A lot of viewers are trying to make the best of the show being on streaming. But the truth is they have become a server show.
Their budget has gotten much tighter. It’s more feasible to employee new comers and have actors that are on recurring status than it is to have full time contract cast members.
These are the kind of budget cuts they make first.. then when things get bad they’ll probably look at changing the show’s format. Which could involve shortening the show’s length and also the number of episodes.
While I would enjoy seeing Arianne back as well as the many female actessses that left.. they are more interested in just surviving and seemingly paying less for the actors they have telling the stories.
I’m guessing it doesn’t matter as much who is playing the part now that it’s on streaming.
This also means the male cast may see some changes soon. Which is why they cut Steve Burton loose.
I think Arianne had no recourse but to sue them. I think she has a good case. I also think Ken Corday needs to be worried that this could in effect end of the show.
I get that he’s not a regular on set fixture. I think he enjoys producing the music more than being executive producer.
I also think this lawsuit could be a blessing in disguise for him if Days ends up having to end. He can enjoy being retired.
.Hopefully Arianne can too. I hope she wins big so he regrets his take or leave it offer. Her 25 years didn’t mean enough to him.
