To Hasbro and the My Little Pony creative team

Hasbro has announced My Little Pony: Forever Friendship, a new animated series centered on Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy.

For many fans, however, this announcement does not feel like the return of the characters we love. It feels like the Mane 6 has been divided, with Applejack and Rarity excluded from the main group that helped make *Friendship Is Magic* so meaningful and successful.

We are asking Hasbro and the creative team behind My Little Pony: Forever Friendship to reinstate Applejack and Rarity as full members of the main cast.

Applejack and Rarity are not interchangeable background characters.

Applejack represents honesty, loyalty to family, determination, humility and hard work. Her practical personality provides an essential contrast to the more impulsive, fantastical and eccentric members of the group. Her friendships and rivalries—particularly her dynamic with Rainbow Dash—are among the most beloved relationships in the franchise.

Rarity represents generosity, creativity, ambition and emotional intelligence. She proved that femininity, elegance and strength are not opposites. Her theatrical personality, artistic passion and sincere devotion to her friends brought a voice and perspective that none of the other characters can replace.

The Mane 6 worked because each member had a distinct personality, background, strength and weakness. Their differences were not obstacles to friendship: they were the foundation of it.

Removing two of them weakens that balance and sends the message that Applejack and Rarity—and the fans who identify with and love them—are less important than the other four.

We understand that a new series needs new stories, new ideas and its own identity. We are not demanding a copy of Friendship Is Magic. We are asking Hasbro not to promote the return of beloved characters while leaving two essential members of their friendship behind.

There is still time before the series premieres in 2027 to reconsider its direction. Applejack and Rarity could be restored as central protagonists, given their own episodes and story arcs, and treated as equal members of the group rather than occasional supporting characters or nostalgic cameos.

We therefore ask Hasbro to:

1. Reinstate Applejack and Rarity as main characters in My Little Pony: Forever Friendship.
2. Give both characters meaningful roles, individual storylines and equal promotional visibility.
3. Preserve the complete group dynamic that made the Mane 6 an enduring symbol of friendship.
4. Listen openly to feedback from the international My Little Pony community before the series launches.

This is not hostility toward the new performers, animators, writers or the four characters already announced. Our criticism is directed at the creative and corporate decision to exclude Applejack and Rarity from the central group.

We want the new series to succeed. But friendship should not begin by leaving two friends behind.

Bring back Applejack. Bring back Rarity. Restore the Mane 6.
