The people of Lawrence County, or better, the people I know and talk to on a daily basis, all have the same complaint; the prices of their weekly groceries.

I used to travel for work, as I worked on the pipeline in the past. When we stayed in apartments, and AirBNB’s, we always made dinner at our “home” because I always came home tired and didn’t feel like going out. We were always spending 200-300, sometimes even 400 dollars on groceries, JUST FOR TWO OF US! Walmart, Krogers, etc. Then one day, we saw a Meijers, and decided to take a chance on it. 

After scanning our buggy that was overflowing with groceries that were plenty enough to last us 2-3 weeks, it only came out to 174.87. I was in absolute shock. After that, I never went to any other grocery store, other than Meijers. Even the Meijer’s brand, (ex: Walmart carries “Great Value” products) was as good, if not, even better than name brand items. Even the quality of their meat was absolutely mind blowing. The ribeyes we bought were 10 times better than Sam’s Club, and Sam’s meats are usually pretty top tier. 

Now that I don’t travel anymore, because of my wife and I’s little boy, I have to resort back to way-to-expensive Walmart and Krogers. I’m begging for a Meijers near our area, even if it’s a 25-30 minute drive. The closest one is in Columbus, and I’d make the drive any day of the week just cause of how much I love their prices and quality of items. But that’s impractical, and I’m sure everyone can agree when I can say this, we’re all close, somewhat, if not, tired of overpaying just to have a home cooked dinner every night. 

Not only will this help the locals with groceries, the amount of jobs this will bring to our area will also be a gigantic plus. 

So, I’ve started this petition, to catch Meijer’s attention, and to bring a Meijer’s here in Lawrence County, Ohio, if not very close, as in neighboring counties. Please take a moment to sign this petition, and let’s bring a new place here for our folks to have, to shop.
