During a pandemic, where a record number of people are unemployed, we are informed the council would like to increase the council tax by 4.99 percent in the new tax year.

While our salaries stay the same, Brighton a d Hove council have decided to raise council tax prices year on year by 3-5% and we just can’t keep up. 

We need to come together and say no to the rise of council tax as so many of us can hardly keep up with the monthly cost of living at it is. 

We feel the solution isn’t to charge residents even more just to make up for the missing budget, because at the end WE suffer the consequences. 
 
With record numbers of unemployment and people furloughed, the last thing people can afford right now is an increase in living costs, including council tax, if anything, it should be decreased. 

If you are a Brighton and Hove resident and agree with the above, please take the time to sign this petition so put forward to the council and stop the price increase before its imposed on us.
