Ban single use plastic bags in Brighton

The Issue

In the UK we use over 8 billion bags a year and this has been on the rise in the last 3 years. The environment can not handle any more plastic, ending up in land fills and in the ocean. The toll on marine life is huge. We have voted in the green party and so should be championing environmental issues such as this. The picture shows Brighton beach after a sunny day, a large percentage of this rubbish is plastic bags, with wind and tide many of these end up in the sea. Plastic bags are only used for minutes and then they go on to pollute the environment for decades. There are alternatives and environmentally friendly options. Please take the time to sign as every signature makes a difference. Thank you.
