Synergy's application has been submitted !

Dear Friends and Supporters of the Synergy Centre, We thought we would drop you a line to let you know that our revised application for a premises licence for the venue housing the Centre has been submitted and the consultation period for it has begun. Anyone wishing to write into the Licensing Department of Brighton City Council in support our application is therefore welcome to do so over the following 28 days, with a deadline of 17th February. If you felt so inclined, please feel free to mention any of the following points : • The need in Brighton for a community based, not-for-profit arts space promoting sustainable and healthy living and an alternative to the alcohol-fueled and often anti-social night life elsewhere on West Street. • If we are to reduce levels of alcohol fueled crime and anti-social behavior, particularly amongst young people, we need to tackle the root causes of such behavior, addressing the ‘ binge drinking culture’ by promoting healthier and more considerate alternatives to it. Feel free to cc us in at info@thesynergycentre.org On another note, we’re currently looking for a friendly electrician to help us with the renovations of our other two venues, the Synergy Live Arts Venue and the Synergy Studio venue. We do have a budget, but if we can pay mates-rates or even work out a ‘pay some – pay later’ arrangement, that would be great. If anyone is interested in volunteering at the centre, there are numerous tasks with which we would welcome help, from simple jobs to help clear up the spaces undergoing renovation to outreach / marketing, social media and so on.
