Fix Trafalgar Terrace Drain
Fix Trafalgar Terrace Drain

Greetings,
Residents of Trafalgar Street, Brighton, East Sussex , BN1 4EG, approached the council in regard to gully situated about 10 meters into Trafalgar Street a year ago. The gully is filled with leaves, litter and gunge and spills out very bad smelling sewage water all down the terrace. The council has put this issue on a long term fix list and we are not clear as to when it will be fixed.
We have contacted Southern Water who confirmed it is not one of their sewage drains, it is an open griddle drain. We hired a private contractor to fix the drain to no avail. over 29 residents are affected by this problem as well as customers at Oliver’s Brighton and other local businesses. a number of families live just by the drain and children play in the area. This is causing a health hazard for children. We, the resident, believes this is now a health and safety risk.
Please, can this gully be investigated as a priority.
Kind Regards,
