The global pandemic that COVID-19 has unfortunately caused has led to numerous negative impacts on college students and their learning environments. Majority of students are learning from home or other socially distanced locations for the protection of their peers, families and themselves. This serves as a great learning curve for students and professors to properly take/administer exams, receive course information, receive supplemental help in courses, and is in turn hurting the integrity of the grades students are receiving. By initiating the pass/fail option, students will have the fair opportunity of choosing how they would like their academic record to be affected amid these numerous learning curves. This option would allow for greater fairness in academic accuracy; considering the many hardships, inconveniences and personal struggles the pandemic has placed on the college environment. College students truly deserve the opportunity to succeed, regardless of the unpreventable obstacles placed in their pathways.

If you are a BYU student in the current Fall 2020 semester, vote for the option to choose the fate of your academic record, rather than allowing the pandemic to rule your academic performance and effort.
