We the undersigned, want the enforcement of the Bridgeport City Charter banning city employees from serving on the Common Council. We also demand the elimination of all other conflicts-of-interests from city departments, boards, commissions and council.

The Issue
Elimination of conflicts of interests is a necessary ingredient to good government. Along with Open Government practices and intelligent legislators elimination of conflicts of interest would eliminate corruption in government. Recently arrested NY State Assembly Leader Sheldon Silver is now the poster-boy for Conflicts of Interests and Corruption. Sadly, Bridgeport continues to be the poster-city for the same kind of corruption.
