The current road junctions for Maesteg Road and the Pentre felin estate and Lidls store have become a serious accident black spot in recent years. Exasperated by the addition of a retail park.

These problems are only set to get worse with even more traffic from a proposed 150 new homes to be built in Pentre Felin starting this spring.

Lack of development to this busy section of highways infrastructure by Bridgend county borough council and their highways dept has resulted in many dangerous collisions due to lack of adequate box junctions, adequate filter traffic lights and general traffic light programming.

This is ultimately leading to potential fatalities on this section of road if substantial changes are not implemented and quickly.

Recently this junction has a planning proposal for a major change but will only be done once another 150 homes have been built on Pentre Felin estate, but this could be at least 4 years away.
