Remove your abusive, homophobic manager from our community now!
The Issue
My name is Alan C Hinman Jr and I am a resident in one of the mobilehome parks managed by the Investment Property Group of Irvine, California. I live in San Jose California.
Last September 19, a serious gas leak was found in the backyard of one of the homes in our community. This leak was large enough to cause PG&E to shut off our gas service until the leaks were found and repaired, some ten days later.
During this time the operations manager for IPG, Christopher Ruiz was sent to our community to see the state of the crisis for himself and to give us an update on the repairs. During this meeting a question and answer session was held and as I spoke about the fact that our local managers were told about the leak six weeks before the leak became unmanagable and dangerous to the residents of my community. Our local manager Arlan Murry tried to physically attack me in front of many of our residents. While the physical attack was prevented by some residents and Mr. Ruiz, the verbal assault by our local manager was unbelievable. I was called a liar, an f*#king faggot and a barrage of filthy language and asked to come outside and fight, etc.
I was given a temporary restraining order against Arlan Murry, but IPG has let this man continue managing their property here in San Jose, instead of moving him out of our community. In front of the judge in my case, Arlan Murry confessed to using language which any right thinking individual would see as “hateful and narrow minded” Mr. Murry told the judge he would never apologize for his language. Although I wasn't given the three year restraining order I had wished for, Mr. Murry’s confession was priceless.
I have sent a request to meet with the CEO of the Investment Property Group, Amber Monte by registered mail. I even invoked the "mobile home residency laws" of the State of California to get the meeting I desired, to no avail.
I have also requested to meet with Mr. Brian Fitterer owner of the Investment Property Group, Kandy Wrappers swimwear and 1690 Swimwear. Since Mr. Fitterer is the bottom line for all of his companys, it would make sense for him to speak with the residents involved in these attacks. In the State of California “hate speech and hate crimes” are no joke and his employee has shown a lack of sensitivity in the use of anti-gay remarks. I have heard nothing from Mr. Fitterer.
They instead sent Mr. Ruiz who previously made a declaration to the court in support of his manager and saying although the meeting was heated, no word like "faggot" had been used and I wasn't in physical danger. Mr. Ruiz's statement was proven to be a lie, when Mr. Murry confessed to his use of the word "faggot". Many other residents had made statements consistent with my allegations.
On a second occasion, Mr. Murry again verbally assaulted a community member, except this time he also said "he would blow the f#&*ing head off" of the resident, and he used the word "faggot" once again in his verbal assault.
This is the reason why I started this petition to free our community of a man that has no sensitivity towards gay people, is a tyrant and shows no remorse for his actions of hatred.
I believe that a meeting with Brian Fitterer and the CEO of the Investment Property Group, Amber Monte is fitting at this point. The liability for their employee's behavior is squarely on there shoulders.
I am asking all people that believe that all human beings... no matter who they are, have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and to be safe from the vulgar and hateful human being that manages our community, to please sign this petition.
In our community we have many LGBT families. I am standing up for all of the residents of my community and for my own family.
