Hello,

As many of you know, a large movement has sparked up within the past couple days around America. It all started when George Floyd was killed senselessly on the street for no reason. It has come to light that one of the runners for Brewster County  Sheriff, Devon Portillo has a long history of racism and discrimination. A few racists comments were made via twitter from Mr. Portillo in 2013 as well as a rant about same sex marriage from 2015.

It is not justifiable to have this man remain on the ballot for such an important elected official position. Alpine does not condone racism or discrimination. We need everybody in this county and country protected from people that have no bias opinion on citizens and will use their power when justified. 

Please sign this petition to have Devon Portillo removed from the ballot to keep one less racist in office. Thank you.
