By signing this petition, I am stating my intent to withdraw my child from public school if the Brevard School Board makes masks mandatory for the 2021-2022 school year.

 

Now that more and more people are getting vaccinated and there seems to be an end in sight for the covid pandemic- at least here in Florida- we must take the harmful face masks off our children. We must give parents back their right to choose what is best for their children.

 Healthy children without any serious underlying medical conditions have a less than .002% chance of dying from covid 19. Additionally, studies have also shown that kids are much less likely to transmit the disease, either to other kids or to adults. 

On the other hand, there is a large number of negative side effects when kids are forced to wear a mask all day at school. These negative consequences range from mild respiratory issues to serious, lasting mental illness- and everything in between. Here is a summary of the more serious side effects:

1). Sudden onset anxiety and aggression 

2). Generalized anxiety disorder

3). Panic attacks 

4). Heat stroke 

5). Asthma attacks 

6). Pneumonia 

7). Migraines 

8). Depression 

9). Suicidal ideation

10). Chest pain and difficulty breathing 

11). Seizures 

And the list goes on. It should be clear by now that there is no real advantage to forcing our public school kids to wear face masks. And every reason to make them optional. 

Brevard County school board: enough is enough. We are done writing endless, heartfelt emails and only getting vague, formulaic replies. We are done showing up to meeting after meeting, only to be rescheduled for the next meeting with no real answers from you. When it comes to the safety and well-being of our children, we will not stop until this madness is ended. 

Which is why, by signing this petition, we are letting you know that, unless you make face masks optional for all Brevard County public school children for the 2021-2022 school year, we will not be enrolling our children anymore. You can't have a school board without any school children, right? Which is why I urge you to do the right thing and make face masks optional for next school year.
