Brantley County is long overdue in needing county animal control/animal shelter (most preferably a no kill). The county has been overrun by stray dogs and cats that are often dumped at people’s homes, on the streets and highways. The county is overrun with irresponsible owners. Most are not spayed or neutered making the problem only worse. People are allowing their dogs to roam and injure/kill other’s pets and injure people. Roads can be unsafe to walk as pets are not on leash.  It’s also a public health and safety issue. Bad pet owners are allowed to abuse and neglect without being charged and fined as it’s become an epidemic.
