Brandy Melville should include all body/person types

Brandy Melville should include all body/person types
The Issue
The trendy clothing carried by Brandy Melville creates toxic beauty standards for girls to fit into their clothing. They are putting size in a small box by claiming that their clothing "fits all” when it is really a size zero-four. This also suggests that it is ‘abnormal’ to be bigger than the small size of their clothing, causing many girls to feel like their body is not good enough. According to CBS News, 97 percent of women have a negative body image. If it gets bad enough, this leads many girls to the unbelievable struggle of dealing with mental health issues such as body dysmorphia, eating disorders, and depression. A major cause of this is what is portrayed in the media, especially in fashion, and by Brandy Melville. When girls and women don’t see themselves represented in sizes or models, they think this is because they are not beautiful. Brandy Melville's website and Instagram seem to only show tall, skinny, pale girls with "perfect” skin and an hourglass figure modeling their clothing. Models are meant to show society the definition of beauty, but most girls and women do not even look like most of their “perfect” models, which tells them they are not beautiful. We need to redefine “beautiful” as normal, and we need to normalize all bodies as beautiful.
My ultimate goal with this petition is to get Brandy Melville to expand to even more versatile and diverse sizes and models. This issue is more relevant now than ever, as it is the 21rst century. Our generation, (Gen Z) have been challenging the past standards of beauty. Ironically enough, us as Gen Z are the majority of Brandy Melville's customers as they continue to exacerbate our society’s body image issues and beauty standards.
