My name is Cathy Gentry; I have lived on Janney Street 17 years. In the neighborhood that consists of two blocks. I have three children that I have raised here. I love this neighborhood, no matter what happens we always come together when needed. Baltimore city wants to change this!

Kids for generations have played in this field and playground for 50 + years. My daughter is 4th generation to play in this space. I have watched so many kids learn to walk, ride bikes and grow up using all of the equipment available. I don’t want to see this gone!

If we are able to keep this we will want to fix up the area and take advantage of the grants that we did not know were available for many years. I found out that grants for playground equipment have been passed over for use by our neighborhood.

Unfortunately if the city sells they will give us a space that is not even a fifth of what we have now. We will no longer have a field at all. The new space is located across from a heavily used company. It would be such a shame that these children would lose all the space they have.

This playground /field has been used by many generations and has been here for over 50 years . They city wants to take 78,317 sf from us and give us a new playground ..minus the field that is only about 16,335 sf . Please sign and help put a stop to this !
