Good afternoon, While we are encouraged by the rumors that Sen. Creighton plans to amend SB 1964 to protect Jones State Forest, we have not heard directly from Sen. Creighton, nor have we seen the language for the proposed amendments. The Save Jones State Forest petition will remain open until the SB 1964 is withdrawn. Any subsequent proposals related to the future of the forest should be open to public feedback before they are submitted to the Texas Legislature and truly protect the forest from development beyond the original intent of the park. While Sen. Creighton has yet to respond to our invitation, we hope you will join us at the Community Meeting to support the protection of Jones State Forest.
