The new parking scheme was to make it easier for the people who live on the residential streets In the town centre easier to park bear their homes , the scheme has solved one problem but created many more , the council didn't just only introduce permits for residents but why have placed parking meters all over ilkley where in some places you would be able to park for say no return in two hours for free !! Now you are being charged after 30 mins!! . Double yellow lines and the placement of more spaces for taxis outside the station are becoming an issue , there used to be spaces there ideal for the disabled , from experience I used to be able to park there when I used to take my elderly grandparents who struggle to walk to stazione coffee shop and now I am no longer able to park close enough for them to get there !! .As an ilkley resident I and many others have voiced our opinions on the ilkley chat Facebook page and now I feel that something must be done
