Today, my 11 year old daughter was hit by a car outside this school in Bradford, West Yorkshire. She has been left battered and bruised, that’s without the emotional trauma that she has sustained. For years, I have watched children battle across this dangerously, busy road. There is no safe space for children to cross. This is not acceptable outside a school, it needs to change before the next child that is hit by a car, looses their life! My little girl has lived to tell the tale, but it could have ended so differently & as a parent, that is my worst nightmare. I want to make it clear, I do not blame the driver of the vehicle, she was not at fault. The fact is the children at this school have to take their lives in their hands to cross this road on a daily basis, this is why I’m petitioning for a permanent crossing, a zebra crossing for example. Please help me bring this to the attention of our local council, something needs to be done to prevent another accident.
