Stop the plan to build 2,000 unnecessary houses on the 260 hectare Syngenta site on Jealott’s Hill between Bracknell and Maidenhead. This plan, if implemented, will benefit the Syngenta company who refuse to invest £62m in their own business to create a Science park they say they need. This while paying out over £5Billion in dividends to their Chinese owners. It will also necessitate the removal of the Green Belt status of 50% of the site. This plan appears in the latest draft development plan for Bracknell and is being promoted by Bracknell Forest Council. If implemented this will have major negative impact on the environment locally, will create additional air pollution and traffic congestion on the Bracknell, Holyport, Maidenhead route, will create an isolated community poorly served by public transport and will threaten indigenous local wildlife. We need to demonstrate strong local public support for this petition if this development is to be stopped.
