Boycotting AC Milan Ownership of Red Bird and Elliot

Boycotting AC Milan Ownership of Red Bird and Elliot
The Issue
AC Milan has been one of the biggest clubs in world football for decades. During their reign, they captured countless trophies and successes due to the rich history and culture of their players. Millions of supporters across the globe have identified themselves as true tifosi with pride beaming from ear to ear.
However, over the past few seasons, we have seen that become less and less of a driving force behind this club. The sacking of Paolo Maldini unceremoniously as well as the sale of other popular club players like Sandro Tonali has been given a stain on the fanbase and sucked the soul out of the club. As club legend Zvonimir Boban has recently stated that "players are now assets and fans are now customers." This is deemed a slap in the face to everyone who has supported the Rossoneri since they were little.
It is no coincidence that this falls in line with the transfer of ownership in recent years between Elliott Investment Management and RedBird Capital Partners. There has been boastfulness from management about increased revenues and record profits. Something that can be acknowledged as a positive if it is only met with further reinvestment within the club. Instead, we have seen increased ticket prices and sales across the board for talented/popular players, not to mention the lack of renewals for some of the biggest stars in all of Italy.
This isn't how you grow a great club. This club had just won a Scudetto and reached a Champions League Semifinal as they were climbing back to the summit of Europe. All of it to be ripped out from underneath the supporters into a place where the club just lost a trophy to Bologna, currently sitting in 8th place in the league, and on top of i,t having 0 structure within its leadership.
CEO Giorgio Furlani, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paolo Scaroni, and Geoferry Moncada have made a mockery of a once proud club hierarchy that carried itself with dignity, respect, and above all else, transparency. We supporters are not stupid and know when we are being toyed with from all aspects. We deserve winning football, winning players, and classy management to back that all up with a sound structure.
This ultimately falls upon one man and one man only, Gerry Cardinale. Or should we say the ghost of Gerry, a man who has not shown up in the country of Italy since September? Absent for major matches in the Champions League and Serie A as the club declines massively from a sporting perspective, while he is at business conferences, boasting about how much he invested in this asset that we call a club. All the while, he admits that he had no idea of the rich history behind the club, which has become apparent in his ideology of running it.
Lack of capital investments, a failed stadium project, disrespecting the club's biggest icon, and selling off great players without any idea of how to replace them. Hiring in key management areas with people who have 0 idea of what they're doing. Furlani with no experience in football, Zlatan with 0 idea on what his role is, on top of no experience in that area, Moncad, who was a scout turned director, and should we even bother addressing whatever Scaroni is?
Supporters have been patient to no end, which brings us to our final point and reasoning for creating this. We are calling for all Milanisti across the globe to sadly boycott this club until a change in ownership takes place and a complete makeover of the club to get it back to its roots. We are calling for Tifosi not to show up to matches, home or away, and we are calling for no purchasing of merchandise from the club.
You are not the only ones to care about money; people across the globe are struggling week to week, and we have put our hard-earned money on top of our emotions into this once glorious club. Not only will you have to be dealing with losses across the board, but also have to deal with the lack of investment from the most important people, your customers. You have drained our souls, we will drain your pockets.
By signing this petition, you are agreeing to boycott this club, refusing to buy merchandise of any kind that puts money in the ownership's pockets.
