Stop Dealing Digital Crack and Tell Balanced Stories

This is not about censorship.
This is not about silencing people who have important stories to tell.
However, it is about telling networks to stop airing stories that could be very helpful for people to hear in severely unbalanced and irresponsible ways.
VH1 would like to trick us into thinking that they are addressing critical social issues. However, for every one "positive" explicit message they send, there are multiple counteractive hidden messages, which actually perpetuate dating violence, low self-esteem, mental illness, sex-trafficking, wealth disparities, classism, misogyny, and so forth.
For example, let's look at the story of Momma Dee, the ex-pimp/ex-human trafficker on the show. In a city where sex trafficking is pervasive, we desperately need to hear Mama Dee's story. Yet, VH1 treats her story like it's no big deal. When sex trafficking is treated casually, like it's chewing a piece of gum, it perpetuates the problem! How? Well, as individuals and organizations work to prevent human trafficking, it is difficult to gain support for a cause that is equivalent to gum chewing according to public opinion. Selling people for sex or labor is not a casual matter and we (networks included) cannot afford to miss a single chance to address the issue thoroughly!
Viewers need education, not further exploitation. And VH1 could "edutain" viewers in a way that would allow them to retain advertising dollars--but they must think outside of the box. Everyone can win.
Until then, turn this stuff off and tell VH1/Viacom why you're tired of the deception and won't be watching or supporting their advertisers (a few are listed below).
