Boycott TPOT 21

Boycott TPOT 21
The Issue
Ever since I saw the announcement, I knew we didn't need another theatrical screening of BFDI. TPOT 21, a part of the "Battle for Dream Island" series, is slated for release with yet another theatrical screening. While the creators likely have their reasons, loyal fans like myself view this as unnecessary and extravagant.
The essence of BFDI lies in its originality and simplicity. The charm was in watching contestants battle on YouTube, not in an embellished cinema format. Theater screenings dilute the experience that we have cherished over the years, making it more about profit than art. Many fans share this sentiment and would rather continue to enjoy BFDI in its original digital format.
There are also environmental implications of theatrical releases. The additional resources used for cinema screenings, from materials for promotion to energy consumption in theaters, contribute negatively to our climate crisis. A digital showcase would align better with sustainable practices, reducing carbon footprints associated with physical screenings.
Moreover, the economic factor cannot be ignored. Many fans are unable to afford theater tickets, or do not have access to cinemas screening TPOT 21 in their locality. This excludes a large portion of the fan base who would rather watch at home. BFDI began as a show accessible to everyone, and it should remain that way.
We urge the creators to reconsider their decision to theatrically release TPOT 21. Let us continue to enjoy and support BFDI in the manner we always have—digitally and inclusively. Please sign this petition to support our cause and let our voices be heard.
