Boycott ROBLOX: The playerbase demands representation in their own community!

The Issue

I've made this petition to make sure that the Roblox community's values and attitudes within the platform are taken into consideration. This issue affects 22 million users, including the 9.5 million aspiring game developers, of which tens of thousands make a living off of their creations.

As someone who has been playing Roblox since 2012, I am incredibly irate at the corporation for removing features that made Roblox a unique and special website for all ages to enjoy. The classic, customizable, blocky avatars are slowly being replaced by hyperrealistic Rthro avatars in every aspect Roblox Corp can in order to promote their backwards ideals to investors. The draconian reforms on audio from March 2022 have severely restricted creative expression. Roblox's moderator positions are filled by lines of code instead of real humans. The community has been in an outrage for YEARS now because despite the overwhelming unpopularity of the company's decisions, they have stopped listening to us and put corporate greed first.

As we the community are the very foundation that Roblox was built upon, we can easily knock it down until we are properly represented and our demands met.

Our Demands:

  1. Fix moderation! All of our mods are poorly-coded bots that cannot think critically. Roblox needs to stop being frugal and hire qualified mods from the human race! Also, ban appeals are rarely read by human eyes and are instead responded to with the same automatic response by the lines of code sitting behind the screen. That is strictly unfair and is just another insult to us as the community.
  2. Bring back audio! The newly-implemented limitation of audio usage from March 2022 prohibits the use of audio files published by other users unless they are six seconds long or less. Not only does this apply to Roblox Studio, but also in-game such as Radios. This is an impediment of players' right to self-expression and flow of creativity.
  3. Stop turning a fun platform for all ages into a corporate void! Stop calling games "experiences" because nobody actually calls it that nor do they want to; it's incredibly inorganic and purely to look good in front of the investors. It waters down the platform's brightest colors. In 2022, Roblox began the process to remove R6 and instead of purchasing the OOF sound from Tommy Tallarico as a multibillion dollar company, they went cheap and replaced it with the ugliest sound imaginable. Roblox is virtually removing Roblox at this point.
  4. Clarify the RULES! Especially Rule 14, which restricts talking about or implementing anything political or geopolitical in your game. For example, it says we cannot use any previously-elected officials in our games. Does this include using them in a historical perspective, like George Washington and the American Revolution? What about from a neutral educational perspective, like an FPS game about WW1 or WW2 or the Russo-Ukrainian War?
  5. Represent the community PROPERLY! Stop shoving Rthro packages down our throats, WE DO NOT LIKE RTHRO AND WE NEVER WILL. By far the most infuriating thing that David Baszucki and his slimy cronies have done is how they portrayed us as a community in their brief but powerful 15th anniversary video (here). This video is proof of how out-of-touch the corporation is with their respective player base, how corporate they are, how they are diverging from us into a direction that lays as the most unsympathetic middle finger to the core values Roblox as a platform started with: Integrity, Simplicity, Openness, and Powering Imagination.

We can achieve this together. Petitions start small but they snowball their way up to being mainstream. But we cannot do it without YOU. If you have doubt and do not want to sign, the problems will not be fixed.
