"BOYCOTT QUEENSTOWN NZ" All of 2016.  If you don't then this place will be too expensive and no one will find accommodation. (every night many kiwis, backpackers and even tour operators cant find any accommodation). people are begging all over social media for places to sleep that don't exist. This is also happening around NZ so its not just a Queenstown problem. What we need to do is stand up against the greed and force the govt to act.

This a comment below recently on facebook from a backpacker and there are hundreds in the same situation.

Hey guys! I'm flying to Queenstown and all the hostels are booked! I tried couchsurfing but didn't have much luck so far... I'm not really keen to sleep on the street with all my stuff."

As 1 supporter stated in a comment. "BOYCOTT QUEENSTOWN TO SAVE QUEENSTOWN" . Read the many comments from all over the world and see how bad queenstown has become. Boycott  the International golf in march, boycott the winter ski season and the summer season.

Queenstown's luxury winter wonderland image needs to be damaged and shown to the world that its not a place that is happy for many. Please not let this town be only for the rich and famous as their playground. People in nz and around the world don't see the daily media stories in the media and social forums and just come here then discover how disgusting it is for real.

The "Greed" of landlords, business owners and employers in this town need to be shamed around the world to force them to stop RIPPING off kiwi's, tourists, and all the thousands of backpackers on working visa holidays. Its not just landlords being overly greedy by upping rental prices by upto $300 a week in some cases, its business property owners also ripping off people with every increasing shop rent prices. Its not just rental costs, Connecta bus prices are so expensive that people rather walk or hitchhike. The hidden bad experiences of this town need to go viral so others don't get misled.

This petition which will go Global,  If you plan to come here for the ski season, please think again. Choose another ski place otherwise in years to come no 1 will be able to afford to come here and if you care about that, then you have to sign this.  We have the chance to make this town a lesson to all cities and towns in the world that greed will not be tolerated. This town hides too the world the homeless people, the poor, the struggling families, the drinking problems, the rip off rents and house prices, the low wages, the exploitation of workers and many homes than should be bulldozed. Lets uncover the serious issues and shame Queenstown into doing whats right.

*Queenstown is a small town but its growing to a unsustainable level. Employers cant even employ staff due to no accommodation available and if a place is found, its too expensive so the staff leave. ALL MEDIA outlets in queenstown and NZ do very serious stories every single week, this town is constantly in the media for very rip off rental costs, now overtaking London and other major cities around the world. Landlords upping rents now not just by the normal city markets of $10 a week but upto $300 extra a week for pure greed because they think they can. (the tenancy legislation sais they cannot do this) but they do because our government does not care to enforce anything or stop this practice. Its up to people power to come together and just boycott this town for this ski season so Millions in $$$ is lost , so businesses, employers & landlords learn they cant rip us off any longer with unaffordable rents, unaffordable housing, rip off wages and high costs of living with 3rd world conditions. This petition can work as it will hurt the airlines as well and right at the time of their million $$ upgrade of Queenstown airport so we have the power to hurt them in the pocket too by you not coming here.(Airlines will not like losing money and they can put big pressure on this town to demand greed stop. If we don't do this now, then consider queenstown a place you wont be able to afford because its getting more expensive every day and this is causing substandard acceptable conditions and issues.. *There is not enough accommodation in this town and only getting worse, this is forcing backpackers to live in tents in peoples back yards or live in cars, to live in hostels for several months, the lucky ones who get a place pay sinful prices to share In substandard mouldy cold homes with upto 20 others, then there is the hundreds who keep arriving for work who just cant get anywhere to stay that keeps feeding the problem making it worse and worse every day because they do not get told the truth to how bad it it. MEDIA here do stories every week so all this is reported in the public so nothing can be denied. The world needs to know how bad Queenstown actually is before choosing to come because the tourism industry just say to keep coming therefore misleading you that when you get here, you have to sleep in your car or just leave.  2016 ski people , be WARNED, THAT you will not find a place to live. Don't waste your money coming here just to be forced to leave and not enjoy the snow. If you do no heed the warning and just turn up, then you got yourself to blame. People also need to know peak seasons there is just not enough work to go around with some jobs getting many hundreds of applicants for every position. BE warned, you will go broke by wanting to stay in this town and many experience this.  If the high rents don't get you, the pubs will !

. A message to all Australians thinking of coming to queenstown this ski season, please don't. If we don't take a stand now, no 1 except the rich and famous will be able to afford it. There is plenty of other ski places to go to this season so please choose 1 of those. This town is worth billions so they can afford to pay more. *WE demand a full government investigation into landlords, and the 3rd world living conditions in many accommodation places. We also demand action on the houses that are basically acting as hostels. In other countries if you have a certain amount of people in 1 place, you are liable to have a hostel licence and then be held by health and safety laws. Many landlords do not care so we can expect a Sydney style multi death fire to happen 1 day as they experience years ago where many tourists were killed. This town is a ticking timebomb and we need to force change now before its too late. *WE demand lower house prices and more affordable living without the red tape bullshite of excuses from the greedy bastards controlling prices. *WE also demand more pressure on rental companies and on the government into tourists who should not be let on our roads killing innocent people because they cant stay on the correct side of the road. No 1 wants to come to New Zealand to be hurt or killed on the road so this is a ongoing problem.
